AU RP Starter Prompt

        She could hear the doctor talking with someone in the next room in a hushed tone, clearly trying not to be overheard but failing at the same time. It's been two days since she woke up in the hospital room after being involved in an accident of some sort that she couldn't remember very well. She had been hurt and at first she hadn't noticed it, but gradually she became aware that she couldn't see anything around her -not even the vaguest shape anymore. At first she had thought perhaps the doctor or a nurse had put something over her eyes to keep the light from getting in her eyes and irritating them, or maybe her eyes were swollen shut from a facial impact or something like that since her face was a bit sore, but she was reassured repeatedly that there was nothing over her eyes that should be obscuring her sight. Tests were performed on her repeatedly and it was confirmed again and again that she had completely lost her vision....

        The conversation she overheard was about her. It seemed she would be released from the hospital in a few days into the care of her family or a friend, if she had any. She couldn't be kept in the hospital indefinitely when she has no insurance or money to afford it, no matter what her newly acquired disabilities were. Perhaps she should be grateful... in a different era she would have been almost instantly sent to an asylum rather than placed as a burden on her family and friends if she had them.... It still scared the living daylights out of her to be sent out into a world she could no longer see though, and it made her sad that she could no longer do some of the things she loved.

        She draws in a sharp breath as she hears the door to her room open and somebody come inside. She turns her head to face them on conditioned habit. She calls out nervously to them, unsure if it was someone she knew or a stranger until she can hear their voice.

            "H-hello? Who's there?" She asks and waits for an answer.
